Why Approved BDE Training Matters
Once Summit receives final MTO approval, students who successfully complete the approved program may qualify for the benefits below.

Many insurers offer a driver-training discount to new drivers who complete a recognized program. Savings may be available up to 10%, but eligibility and the amount vary by insurer and individual policy.
Thirty hours of guided online learning are included as part of the Summit Path™ and may begin up to three months before the student turns 16.
Insurance discounts are not guaranteed. Families should confirm eligibility and savings directly with their insurance provider.

Yes. A student can begin the included 30-hour online training up to three months before turning 16. In-car instruction begins once the student meets the applicable licensing and eligibility requirements.
The Summit Path™ includes 30 hours of online learning, 12 hours of private in-car instruction, Summit Score™ tracking, digital progress reports, Road Test Readiness assessment and a final two-hour coaching session. Applicable taxes are additional.
Ten core hours are completed within one focused week. The final two hours are reserved for targeted coaching immediately before the exit exam or road-test milestone.
It is Summit’s structured progress measurement across observation, intersections, lane positioning, parking, highway driving, defensive driving and other core skills.
The website shows polished previews so families can understand the experience. Actual parent, student, instructor and admin dashboards are private and require secure login credentials.
